possible queen loss

I treated my hive two weeks ago with formic acid because of a high mite count. When I checked the hive today the count was five mites for 250 bees and when checking the frames I am not finding any eggs or larvae and because of the season I'm not sure what to expect. I'm wondering if I lost my queen or is she not laying right now. Should I wait and check again later or is it too late to requeen if possible.

Southern Oregon Beekeepers Association meets on the first MONDAY of May at SOREC at 569 Hanley Road in Central Point, OR 97502. Meetings are on the first MONDAY of May, June, July, and August at the same location.
