August Monthly Meeting

SOBA monthly meetings are open to the public.  

OUTSIDE - 5:00pm Hive Check Light - SOBA Member, Tony Torresan will lead hive check on one of the club hives, weather permitting. Attendees to the hive check must bring protective gear, wear close-toed shoes, and gloves are optional. Tony will discuss late summer hive issues. 

INSIDE - 5:00pm The building is open at 5:00PM and some attendees bring a meal to eat onsite, or bring potluck to share. This is an informal time to socialize and engage with experienced beekeepers. 

The main meeting begins at 6:00pm with an ice breaker game led by Leslie Lundgren. At 6:30pm, Dr. Ramesh Sagili, from the OSU Bee Lab will speak on bee nutrition and varroa management.  Southern Oregon Beekeepers Association meets on the first MONDAY of June, July, and August at SOREC at 569 Hanley Road in Central Point, OR 97502. Meetings are on the first MONDAY of June, July, and August at the same location.
